JAN'2025 NPTEL semester seems to be a great one for VLSI Enthusiast

This semester has many courses across all three domains of VLSI engineering: Digital, Analog, and AI software-hardware design.

Let's decode them one by one :

Digital

• The best course is if you have all the prerequisites in place. Refer to in-depth video for more info: Digital IC Design
• We have two courses floated for this semester: VLSI Physical Design with Timing Analysis  and  VLSI Physical Designbefore registering for any of these courses please watch this course currently freely available on the NPTEL site: VLSI Design Flow: RTL to GDS 

• Courses on Verilog: 

  Digital Design with Verilog   To build mastery in Verilog,we also recommend exploring the  problems on HDLbits. To assist you, we offer two courses on our portal: 

  1. "Practice Verilog with Me Part 1" (Free)

  2. "Design FSM with Verilog," which includes a minor project.

  If you want to advance your skills further and learn how to design a RISC CPU, consider our paid course, Build CPU from Scratch , available on our portal

Analog 

• Fundamental Analog course important for both digital and analog design engineers:Analog Circuit by IITM  , also refer to this course as add on from IITD Analog circuit by IITD  , although  this course is  not available to register for this NPTEL semester still you can watch the full course in NPTEL site  
•  Advanced level Analog course only for Analog design engineers:  Analog IC Design

AI Hardware Design 

• These courses are only recommended if you have all the pre-req available 
• GPU Architectures and Programming
  
• Parallel Computer Architecture
  
• Also, we recommend taking our Build CPU from Scratch course to get a quick recall on RISC CPU design as a pre-req for computer architecture 

AI algorithms and coding 

• Please register for these courses in the correct sequence to fulfil the prerequisites for subsequent courses.
